Ascendapps Limited ("Ascendapps", "we", "us") builds custom-branded mobile apps for New Zealand businesses and organisations. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect personal information through our website, our own apps, and our services. We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect

We only collect information we need. This may include:

- Your name, email address, phone number and business name when you contact us, fill in an enquiry form, or become a client.

- Information you choose to share with us about your business and what you need from an app.

- If you use an app we publish under the Ascendapps name: your name, email address and any details you enter when creating an account, plus basic technical information such as device type, operating system and app version, used to keep the app working properly.

- Payment information, which is handled directly by our payment providers. We do not see or store your full card details.

How we use it

We use your information to:

- Respond to your enquiries and provide our services.

- Build, publish, support and improve apps.

- Send you information you have asked for, such as updates about your app or account.

- Process payments.

- Meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising by third parties.

Who we share it with

We share information only with trusted service providers who help us run our business, and only as much as they need to do their job. These include our app platform provider, Google Workspace (email and file storage), and payment providers. Some of these providers store information outside New Zealand. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is protected in a way that is comparable to New Zealand law.

We may also share information if we are required to by law.

Apps we build for clients

When we build an app for a client, that app is published under the client's own name, and the client is responsible for the personal information collected through it. Each client app has its own privacy policy. If you have a question about information held in a client's app, please contact that business directly. We will help them respond where we can.

How we keep it safe

We use secure, reputable systems and limit access to people who need it. We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required by law, and then delete it securely.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. You can also ask us to delete your information or your account in any app we publish, and we will do so unless we are legally required to keep it. To make a request, email us at the address below. We will respond within 20 working days.

Children

Our website and services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
